We now come to mid-winter . . . we have passed the 100th day of school, the Chinese new year has been celebrated in 6th grade, and our Student Council continues new plans (look for rally towels coming soon and pro-life t-shirts in the spring!). Now we look towards the lengthening of daylight and the quiet renewal time of Lent. This is a time of year where we often feel like one big family, having spent much time under one roof. It takes a little more prayer and patience to get through some days! These are wonderful opportunities to talk to your child about what it really means to live out a virtue in everyday life and to continue doing the right action. This is summarized well for all of us in one fourth grader's prayer below.
I pray joy, hope, and peace for all people,
good and bad, that they ask God for mercy and forgiveness
for what they have done wrong and
to promise they will show love for one another.
I hope all people can see the goodness of God.
Amen.
