









Welcome to Kindergarten! This is the land of kings and queens, princes and princesses! In February, we will have warm hearts as we study Post Office and construction. Look for valentines, stamps, weights, Presidents, buildings, and workers. Winter brings such fun gifts. Visit us at Kindergarten Test Drive on February 21st from 5:30PM to 7:00. Please come see us and take a walking tour of our school.
This month we are learning and writing our Postal words and Construction vocabulary words. Kindergarteners will be discovering new learning center activities in our room. Caution - Learning Ahead and Magic!
We have our Letter People and Houghton Mifflin Reading with the Letter M, L, O, G, T, H, P, N, I, S, F,R,K, B,E,Y,and A. Our Reading Series includes rich and robust vocabulary in our Big Books, decodable books, and leveled readers!
We are studying our Saxon Math and Phonics programs. We will use the letters to build words, write words, and read. Wow! The children are writing the sounds that they hear in their Kid Writing Journals. and starting Homework each night except Friday to prepare us for First Grade.
Our Math program shows us abstract concepts with manipulatives. We are building patterns with cube and pattern blocks.We are counting pennies, dimes,working out word problems, and telling time to the hour. We slip, flip, and turn tangrams to cover shapes just like the shapes on the High School entrance exam! We are writng our numbers to ten. Watch out- we may be the next CEO of your company.
There is so much fun with songs and games no wonder they call this Kindergarten! There is magic in Kindergarten! We wil have fun with our Prayer Partners. February is a fun winter wonderland month!




We decorated Father Sherdel's tree and had cookies and punch at the Rectory.
